Shopping: OSGrid DutchMountains

A very good address for shopping is "DutchMountains" by Avia Bonne in the OSGrid.
Three major buildings are on the region. Two are build in an old victorian style architecture while one is a modern shopping mall.

I started my investigation in the big victorian style building which reminiscent to grungy steampunk.

Everything in the shop can be copy taken, even when you come from a different grid than OSGrid. And it is not only Avia Bonne offering her goodies but other designers too. As there is Miquel Barcelos with men's outfit.

Or Gary Beaumont and his vehicles.

Women's clothing are also to be found as full landscape sceneries for your region.

You need an alien or Smeagol in mesh ? No problem.

On the upper level on can find more women's clothing, hats and other accessories and a small collection of houses.

Leaving the building I strolled towards the hall which is build in steel and glass as they have been in the late 1800. On the way one finds other objects of interest to take copy. as there are balloons, grungy airplanes and a baby.
The hall comes out to be an old railway station with some rusty robots build as humans. Very nice scenery.

My next interest was the modern building where it says "I-Mesh" at the entrance.

Unfortunately my computer or my graphic card or my viewer or all of them were totally unable to cope with that intense number of mesh and I crashed twice when being in this building. The building itself holds mostly furniture what I could see from the very moments I was able to look into it.
Next beside the i-mesh building one will find a grotto scenery which can be taken as a copy, too.

I almost forget to mention that the OSGrid "travel office" by Mercalia Beck has a teleporter board there with fine destinations within the OSGRID and Hypergrid. It's sorted in different themes and you can scroll by using the little arrows at the bottom. Click on it and you'll get the map to teleport.

Avia Bonne has build a very fine shopping region for the special something. Well done Avia!

Portrait: Cherry Manga

When you follow the "Hyperzette" you know that I spend a lot of time in the Franco Grid. Especially when it comes to art the Franco Grid is always a good address. Among a few other extraordinery artists you will often read the name "Cherry Manga".
Cherry was involved in the building of the region Accueil Francogrid, she played a big role in the Fest' Avi 2014 in Franco Grid and her installations are to be seen on the regions "Levillage" and "Terra Mater".
The "Hyperzette" had the opportunity to ask Cherry a few question to get to know more about this fantastic artist.

Hyperzette:
When did it all begin for you in virtual environments and what was the first grid you started ?

Cherry:
Second Life is my very first experience in virtual worlds, I joined it in 2007, not knowing at all what it was about.

Hyperzette:
You are a builder but predominantly a visual virtual artist. Are you an artist in real life as well and if so in what genre, like sculptor or painter or....?

Cherry:
I used to draw, paint and clay sculpt a lot just for myself, not professionally. But having my first computer changed everything, I started to make digital paintings and the big revolution was while discovering Second Life and 3D modeling. It became and still is my favorite way of expression.

Hyperzette:
Is your art to be seen in real life exhibitions ?

Cherry:
So far I am shy to show my work in real, maybe because of humility... But i participated in the virtual background of Alain Behar's  ATE piece of theater so a region I created for this work was displayed on the scene. Next year, I'll be in an artist residence in Dakar with Gawlab collective.

Hyperzette:
Back to the virtual worlds. Are you active in other grids too, beside FrancoGrid ?

Cherry:
Still on Second Life, I own "Mysterious Wave" with Anley Piers and we make installations there, the actual one is Faith. I have accounts in OS, Metropolis and Craft, and if a project welcomes me it will be with pleasure.

Hyperzette:
Visiting your regions the whole region is an art installation but you also design fantasy clothing. What do you like more ?

Cherry:
Clothing, furnishing, gardening is something I do occasionally,  it is more interesting to me to create an atmosphere, an immersive world.

Hyperzette:
What kind of building technics do you use prims, sculpts, meshes or a mixture of all ?

Cherry:
All of them! There is not long time ago I started to learn mesh modeling in Blender, and it is the most interesting way for me to create, I can create what I have in mind exactly. But for obvious reasons such as land impact in Second Life I rather use sculpts when needed. Basic prims are and always be helpful, everyone needs a good cylinder or cube :)

Hyperzette:
Some of the objects I have seen are scripted, do you script, too ?

Cherry:
Absolutely not, I am able to modify existing scripts but it's not my cup of tea.

Hyperzette:
Where and/or how do you get the ideas for your work ?

Cherry:
Most time the inspiration comes from a sensation, a feeling, a thought... The created worlds  come from my own universe, my fears, my strengths, my sensibility.  These days I am experimenting a storm like ocean, it came alive a day I was very angry... I like the idea of the visitors to have their own approach, I don't chew explanations for them and I prefer them to feel by themselves.

Hyperzette:
As I said before, your regions are exhibitions already but would you do some artwork in virtual exhibition halls as well, like exhibit parts of your already existing installations somewhere else ?

Cherry:
I made this for years and I became more exigent. I refuse now "4 walls" gallery exhibitions that I find totally annoying in a space where we can build without reality constraints. I accept thankfully exhibitions where I can feel free.

Hyperzette:
Do you combine your virtual artwork with real art like playing a machinima of your virtual imaginations in a real exhibition ?

Cherry:
I just printed some builds I care about and they are framed at home :) As said previously I am really shy to jump into art universe by myself, friends push me, that's why I'll may be more implicated in RL in the future.

Hyperzette:
Do your installations transmit messages to your audience ?

Cherry:
I heard so many times from visitors, bloggers "Do you have any notecard about this work?" And the answer is no, each person will feel the installation with its own perception, of course there are intentions placed in the works, the game is that some will see it others will see something else I never made... :) I can answer questions though.

Hyperzette:
Any plans for the future ?

Cherry:
Time will tell, I never stay without a project long.

Thank you Cherry for this interview

Art: 6 Worlds in 1

One of the most active artist in experimental art is no doubt Wordfromthe Wise. Beside a few other regions in METROPOLIS, which "The Hyperzette" will introduce in the future, the first I considered to visit was "6 Worlds in 1".

The above picture shows what one will see from the outside of the six worlds. Just boxes and spheres. But it is not the outside which is of interest, the contents of the boxes are the interesting, exciting and funny parts of this region. It is hard to describe what one will be encountered when traveling the worlds but it is amazing to see what one can do with textures and particles.

To travel the worlds you have to click the green and red arrows which are to be found in each of the worlds but one.
That one is a special:
If you arrived there you will land on a invisible platform and to move around one has to fly. You will find no arrows anymore. If you want to leave this world just stop flying. I will not tell you the world this will happen, you will find out. Now I will give some impressions from what you will see. Many things are in movement and will not show their excitment in the picture.

It's fun to let the time flow in the "6 Worlds in 1" created by an imaginative Wordfromthe Wise.

Destination: Dark*Ocean

I woke up next to a big campfire burning between two wooden huts and a gypsy wagon. Cows were grazing in their fenced squares. But nobody was around. All I remembered was the thunders in the stormy sea, cracking planks of the ship and the horrible cries of the men when the vessel broke apart.
I had no idea how I managed to come to this place but I must be alive, heaven may look different. Slowly I stood up, exhausted I walked to a nearby well and drank some water.Wary I inspected the huts but they were empty.

From one of the houses I could see a small vessel lying ashore and I decided to go towards it. The vessel was a not common ship build and looking at the sterns flag I recognized  the white skull and the crossed bones on a black ground, the flag of the pirates. Now I knew that I stranded in a dangerous area.

Carefully I stepped on board the the ship. It was unmanned and empty. Listening into the wood behind me gave no indication of any person in the vicinity. Just the crackle of the campfire and singing birds came to my ear. I left the abandoned ship and walked along the coast side when another house and another ship came in sight......

This or similar is how a story could begin when you visit the Pirate Isle of Dark*Ocean build by Brenda Geissen. Dark*Ocean is the name of the region but Tortuga the name of the Island, which is a popular berth of pirates and reloading point for the booty and the smuggled goods.

Tortuga is a complex of two big and two smaller islands with no real harbour, just an old damaged jetty on one of the bigger islands but a beacon tower.

Not all the houses are empty some do have inhabitants.

There is lots of details to be found all over the region and in the ships.

Come on over to Tortuga and have a look at this great region. Just enjoy the stay and explore the islands and the ships. And maybe you get yourself inspired for your own builds by the great work of Brenda Geissen

Art: Accueil Francogrid

"Accueil Francogrid" the reception of the FrancoGrid is a region of art.
It is not really necessary to start your trip into the grid on this region and the region itself might be a bit confusing in navigation at first, but it is a region of fantastic art by Cherry Manga and dj phil and surely a must be to visit.

The main object on the region is the teleporter hall. Beware it is watching you !

The teleport terminals are available with a copy take at the guardians to the left and right of the entrance.

And from now on the photos will tell the story.

Actually the above shown teleporter is a vendor type. By clicking on the left or right eye it will change the destination, which is indicated in the public chat.

Welcome to the Reception of FrancoGrid.
