Roleplay United Federation Starfleet: On Board Davy Crockett Part 2

The "Davy Crockett" is one of the space ships used in the Roleplay of the United Federation Starfleet on 3rdRock Grid. It is the German language ship under the command of Commander Daecalad Brôgdram (IC), (Selenmoira Resident (OOC)).
And that is the ship I am on board at the moment.
In my first part I showed you the quarters and the lounge on level 2 and now I will continue with whatever I will find.
And the first seems to be the machine room of the ship in the back, called "L3-A Engineering Lvl B". And that is packed with all kinds of strange machinery, computer desks and screens which do not make any sense to me. But have a look:





This room is huge and two levels high. Leaving the room through the upper level doors you find yourself in a floor system on level 02.

Again the floor is shaped as a letter U and I walk to the top of it. But this time the hallway makes a little bend and I am in the scientific section of the ship. A cage like room contains botanical species collected at different world I guess



And a few doors will open the way to the laboratories.

private quarters,

Science Lab I,

"L2-F Astrometry",



and the Sickbay.



Others than that, there are some officers and crew quarters.

To get to the next level of the ship I will try one of the elevators. Kind of a small adventure, because I have no idea how those work.
Well there is a board in the back one can click to get a menue. Click it while in the elevator and standing on the tabs on the bottom.

For my next level I select D1 Aft. And yes, managed to get to level 1. My next object of reviewing. Don't forget to live long......and of course......to prosper.

Interview: Roxelo Babenco (Museo del Metaverso)

With the reopening of the "Museo del Metaverso" on the Craft World Grid the "Hyperzette" took the opportunity to talk to Roxelo Babenco the owner of the "Museo".
- Con la riapertura del "Museo del Metaverso" il "Hyperzette" ha colto l'occasione per parlare con Roxelo Babenco proprietario del "Museo".

Because Roxelo's mothertoungue is Italian, she answered in Italian but had the kindness to translate it in English: Thank you very much.

Hello Roxelo with the reopening of the "Museo Del Metaverse" I like to ask you a few question.
- Ciao Roxelo con la riapertura del "Museo Del Metaverso" mi piace farle qualche domanda.

Hyperzette:
My first question is, when did the metamorphosis happen from Rosanna Galvani to Roxelo Babenco ?
And when did the idea of the "Museo del Metaverso" crew up to the nowadays point ?

- Quando è avvenuta la metamorfosi da Rosanna Galvani a Roxelo Babenco ? 
  E quando è nata l'idea del Museo del Metaverso ?

Roxelo:
In fact, there was no metamorphosis, as Roxelo Babenco is only the extension of Rosanna Galvani in parallel worlds. The idea of MdM was born in 2007, a few months after my birth in Second Life, when I realized that that environment was suitable for the implementation of a cultural project, but did not know how and what at that time.
The lighting came after my participation in Second Life at a conference, held by Prof. Mario Gerosa to uNacademy, which unveiled a world unknown to me until then, the art world of parallel worlds. Prof. Mario Gerosa was invited to the inauguration of the "Museo del  Metaverso", which will be held March 7, 2015 at 20:30 CET (11:30 am PST).
Mario Gerosa, among its many other activities, is the author of two books which are for me very important, Second Life Meltemi Ed. and Rinascimento Virtual Meltemi ED.
He is also the curator of the exhibition “Rinascimento Virtual” that was organized to Florence, Museum of Natural History, in 2009. Mario Gerosa is the chief editor of AD magazine.

- In realtà, non c’è stata nessuna metamorfosi, poiché Roxelo Babenco è soltanto l’estensione di Rosanna Galvani nei mondi paralleli.  L’idea di MdM nacque
nel 2007, dopo pochi mesi dalla mia nascita in Second Life, quando compresi che quell’ambiente era idoneo per la realizzazione di un progetto culturale, senza tuttavia sapere ancora quale.
L’illuminazione arrivò, dopo la mia partecipazione in Second Life ad una conferenza tenuta dal Prof. Mario Gerosa ad uNacademy, il quale mi svelò un mondo a me fin ad allora sconosciuto,
il mondo dell’arte dei mondi paralleli. Il Prof. Mario Gerosa è stato invitato alla inaugurazione del Museo del Metaverso, che si terrà il 7 marzo 2015 alle ore 21,30.
Mario Gelosa, fra le altre sue molteplici attività, è l’autore di due libri per me molto importanti, Second Life Meltemi Ed. e Rinascimento Virtuale Meltemi Ed.
Egli è anche il curatore della mostra Rinascimento Virtuale che fu organizzata a Firenze, Museo dei Storia Naturale, nel 2009. Mario Gerosa è il capo redattore di AD.

Hyperzette:
Maybe you can tell a bit of yourself. Who is Rosanna Galvani ? And who is Roxelo Babenco ?

- Forse si può dire un po 'di te stessa. Chi è Rosanna Galvani? E chi è Roxelo Babenco ?

Roxelo:
As I said, Rosanna and Roxelo, the real identity and parallel, merge into a single identity, because both have the same interests and the same passions.
To create a museum in the physical world is impossible for a person who does not have millions of money, however, it was possible to do it in a parallel world.
Rosanna Galvani is a lady of old time, retired. Her cultural background is classical, because she is in possession of classical education, and university studies took place in the Faculty of Modern Letters at the University of Macerata, but never graduated.
I worked until 2010 at the Public Administration, as Officer of the Service Culture, dealing Theatre, Exhibitions, Education, Projecting and more.
Therefore, the attendance of artists and the organization of exhibitions, theatrical and cultural events in general, has been a constant throughout her working life. That is why she knows so well to  organize the activities of the Museum :)

- Come ho già detto, Rosanna e Roxelo , l’identità reale e quella parallela, si fondono in un’unica identità, perché hanno entrambe gli stessi interessi e le stesse passioni.
Creare un museo nel mondo fisico è impossibile per una persona che non possieda milioni di Euro, invece è stato possibile farlo in un mondo parallelo.
Rosanna Galvani è una signora d’altri tempi, in pensione.  La sua formazione culturale è classica, poiché è in possesso della Maturità Classica e i suoi studi universitari,
hanno avuto luogo nella facoltà di Lettere Moderne dell’Università di Macerata, senza avere mai conseguito la Laurea.
R.G. ha lavorato fino al 2010 presso la Pubblica Amministrazione, come Funzionario del Servizio Cultura, occupandosi di Teatro, Mostre, Formazione, Progettualità e  molto altro.
Pertanto la frequentazione di artisti e l’ organizzazione di mostre, eventi teatrali e culturali in generale, è stata una costante di tutta la sua vita lavorativa. Per questo motivo sa organizzare così bene l’attività del Museo :)

Hyperzette:
I do know the old Museo with its glass cubes stacked together to a big structure. Which I think, was a great piece of building. Why did it changed ?

- Il vecchio Museo con i suoi cubi di vetro impilati insieme a formare una grande struttura. Che credo, è stato un grande pezzo di costruzione. Perché è cambiato ?

Roxelo:
The structure of the old museum was also beautiful and evocative, and the idea started from the primitive, primordial element of parallel worlds. So far MdM has had different structures, because
in parallel worlds, techniques and  tastes change quickly and the old museum seemed a little out-dated.
It has changed, because when Alpha Auer, Elif Ayiter in RL, was available to realize
the design and implemented a new structure. I couldn’t have hoped for better. In fact the result is extraordinary, because the museum now has a structure in which the design is advanced and refined.

- La struttura del vecchio museo era anch’essa bellissima e suggestiva e partiva dal primitive, elemento primordiale dei mondi paralleli. Fino ad oggi MdM ha avuto diverse strutture, perché
nei mondi paralleli, le tecniche e i gusti cambiano velocemente e il vecchio museo sembrava ormai un poco datato. E’ cambiato, perché quando Alpha Auer, Elif Ayiter in rl, si è rea disponibile a
progettare e realizzare una nuova struttura, io ho pensato che non avrei potuto sperare di meglio. Infatti il risultato è straordinario, perché il museo ora ha una struttura in cui  il disegno è all’avanguardia e raffinatissimo.

Hyperzette:
Is it just you managing the "Museo del Metaverso" or is it a team ?

- È sola a gestire il "Museo del Metaverso" o è una squadra ?

Roxelo:
Say that I’m alone means to no give credit to all the people who are close to me and help me every day, from Alpha Auer, Licu Rau, Pallina60 Loon, Tirza Ember, Maurizio Marco Tozzi, Wizardoz Chrome etc.
The "Museo del Metaverso" is a project too complex and difficult to not have the need of close friends who can make a contribution, enough for me even just friendship and closeness. The rest comes by itself.

- Dire che sono sola significa non rendere merito a tutte le persone che mi sono vicine e che mi aiutano quotidianamente, a partire da Alpha Auer, Licu Rau, Pallina60 Loon, Tirza Ember, Maurizio Marco Tozzi, Wizardoz Chrome ecc.
Il Museo del Metaverso è un progetto troppo complesso e faticoso per non aver bisogno di amici vicini che possono dare un contributo, a me basta anche solo amicizia e vicinanza. Il resto viene da sé.

Hyperzette:
The Museo consists of several levels (floors) each named as a Heaven (cielo) and each cielo consists of several halls (showrooms). Can you tell us how many showrooms the museo counts all in all ?

- Il Museo è costituito da diversi livelli (piani) ognuno nominato “Cielo” e ogni Cielo è costituito da diverse sale (showroom). Puoi dirci quanti showroom il Museo conta nel complesso ?

Roxelo:
The museum has a total of 27 showrooms and 7 platforms

- Il museo è dotato complessivamente di 27  sale e  7 piattaforme

Hyperzette:
The exhibition halls at the moment show artwork of different artists. Will that stay the way in future ?

-  Le sale al momento mostrano le opere d'arte di diversi artisti. Rimarrà così anche in futuro ? 

Roxelo:
Showrooms host exhibitions of different artists, on the first floor there are artists who work in the physical world, climbing upwards you can admire the works of artists who are operating, in many cases in both worlds, parallel and physical, in other cases, artists who only work in parallel worlds.
Artists can, and hopefully do, update their exhibition halls, when they deem it is necessary. Should there be new artists, the property was built in such a way that it adapt to the needs of the museum and then you can replicate the last floor infinity. Do not be put off by the word "museum", the "Museo del Metaverso" is not a museum in its traditional sense, also, because it would be a contradiction in terms and museum metaverse, if you do not intend to go beyond the concept of museum where ancient institution aimed at conservation of works of art and metaverse as a fantasy world that exceeds the present, projecting beyond the known reality.

- Le sale ospitano le esposizioni di artisti diversi, al primo piano vi sono artisti che operano nel mondo fisico, procedendo verso l’alto si possono ammirare le opere di artisti
che operano, in molti casi in entrambi i mondi, parallelo e fisico, in altri casi, artisti che lavorano solo nei mondi paralleli.
Gli artisti possono (e sarebbe auspicabile lo facessero), aggiornare le loro sale espositive, quando lo ritengono opportuno. Nel caso dovessero arrivare nuovi artisti, la struttura è stata costruita in modo tale da
adattarsi alle esigenze del museo e quindi  è possibile replicare l’ultimo piano all’infinito. Non bisogna farsi condizionare dalla parola “museo”, il Museo del Metaverso non è un museo nel senso tradizionale del termine,
anche perche sarebbe un contraddizione in termini museo e metaverso, se non si intendesse superare il concetto di museo quale antica istituzione atta alla conservazione delle opere d’arte e di metaverso come  mondo di fantasia che supera il presente,

Hyperzette:
How is the selection of the exhibiting artist done ? Is it done as in SL and the LEA project as kind of an open bidding ?

- Come avviene la selezione degli artisti ? E 'fatto come in SL nel progetto LEA, come una specie di offerta aperta ?

Roxelo:
The artists were selected by direct appointment. For the most part, artists who have always had a working relationship with MdM and that, in some cases, have begun to exhibit their own works to the Museum of the Metaverse.
The fact those are Selavy Oh, Frieda Korda, Dancoyote Antonelli, Albertini and Moioli, Marco Manray, Sarima Giha, Velazquez Bonetto, Josina Burgess, Sowa May and Banrion Constantine. Those have immediately responded to my call, which for me is a cause of great emotion and satisfaction.
These are the artists of the historical museum, where they have always had their place from the outset. I'm well proud of all the other good artists.
Giovanna Cerise, Daco Monday already present in subsequent editions of the museum and of those showing for the first time to MdM.

- Gli artisti sono stati selezionati mediante chiamata diretta. In massima parte, sono artisti che hanno da sempre un rapporto di collaborazione con MdM e che, in alcuni casi, hanno iniziato ad esporre le loro opere proprio al Museo del Metaverso.
Il fatto che Selavy Oh, Frieda Korda, Dancoyote Antonelli, Albertini e Moioli, Marco Manray, Sarima Giha, Velazquez Bonetto, Josina Burgess, Sowa May e Banrion Constantine, abbiano risposto immediatamente alla mia chiamata è per me motivo di grande commozione e soddisfazione.
Questi sono glia artisti storici del Museo, dove hanno sempre avuto il loro spazio fin dagli esordi. Sono ben orgogliosa di tutti gli altri bravi artisti, Giovanna Cerise, Daco Monday già presenti nelle successive edizioni del museo e di coloro che espongono per prima la volta a MdM.

Hyperzette:
Are the exhibitions set up on a temporary base and if so what is the time period for an artist to show her/his work ?

- Le mostre sono allestite su una base temporanea e, in caso affermativo qual è il periodo di tempo per un artista di mostrare il suo / la sua opera ?

Roxelo:
At the moment, there are not temporary exhibitions, even if the 4th floor of the museum was designed for that purpose.
But we are equipped for temporary exhibitions.

- Al momento, non ci sono mostre temporanee, anche se il 4° Piano del museo era destinato a tale scopo,  ma ci attrezzeremo anche per le mostre temporanee.

Hyperzette:
A neighbored region of the Museo is called "Uqbar". Can you tell in short what this is about ?

- Una regione neighbored del Museo si chiama "Uqbar". Puoi dire in breve che cosa si tratta ?

Roxello:
Uqbar.mediaartculture is a project implemented by the Museum of the Metaverse in 2008, in collaboration with Paolo Valente aka arco Rosca in SL. Uqbar.mediaartculture was the interface between the parallel world Second Life and the physical world.
In fact with uqbar.mediaartcultura, MdM participated in many initiatives in the physical world, starting with Virtual Renaissance in Florence, to Futuroma, Ars in Ara in Rome, Viareggio Art Project and to finish eith at Innovation Festival in Milan.
Now, the region is called Uqbar in tribute to Jorge Luis Borges and his book Fictions that inspired the project uqbar.mediaartculture, which was a major project, we do not forget. The sim Uqbar is destined for socialization and recreation.

- Uqbar.mediaartculture è un progetto messo in atto dal Museo del Metaverso nel 2008, in collaborazione con Paolo Valente aka arco Rosca in SL. Uqbar.mediaartculture era l’interfaccia fra il mondo parallelo Second Life e il mondo fisico.
Infatti con uqbar.mediaartcultura, MdM ha partecipato a molte iniziative nel mondo fisico, ad iniziare da Rinascimento Virtuale a Firenze,  passando per Futuroma, Ars in Ara a Roma, Viareggio Art Project per finire ad Innovation Festival a Milano.
Ora la regione si chiama Uqbar in omaggio a Jorge Luis Borges e al suo libro Finzioni a cui si ispira il progetto uqbar.mediaartculture, che  è stato un progetto importante, da non dimenticare. La sim Uqbar è destinata alla socializzazione e alla ricreazione.

The Museo includes an Auditorium. So it seems that there are plans for meeting or conferences ?

- Il Museo comprende un auditorium. Così sembra che ci sono piani per meeting o convegni ?

Roxelo:
The Museum has an auditorium where we will organize conferences, lectures, meetings and a comfortable seating area to talk.

- Il Museo è dotato di un auditorium dove si organizzeranno convegni, letture, incontri e una zona per chiacchierare in comodi salottini.

Hyperzette:
Any plans for the future ? I bet there are ;-)

- Progetti per il futuro ? Scommetto che ci sono;-)

Roxello:
Organize an exhibition in the physical world. Do you think it is an utopia ? ;-)

- Realizzare una mostra nel mondo fisico. Credete sia un’utopia ? ;-)

OpenSim for Dummies mit Rubeus Helgerud

Profusus progymnastes Profu. prog. Destination and Entertainment: Coney Island V

You like the smell of the sea, the sounds of the seagulls, the fun. riding carousels and visiting an amusement park. Well get yourself to "Coney Island V" on the Littlefield Grid.
The region is a var region with 4 bigger piers connected to a straight road with shops on the side.

On each of the piers, one will find all kinds of carousels for amusement. Let me start on the most southern pier to show you what to expect.
The most southern located pier is extended to a smaller one, with a speedboat laying aside. And one can ride it, and of course it is fun to do so. The ferry on the other side of the pier was missing at the time of my visit. :-(

The next attraction, I tried, was the working big wheel "Wonder Wheel", It runs with the known sitting bug. Anyway you have a good view over the scenery when being on top.

On the same pier one will find the tall water slide "Splash" which I gave a try as well. But it is hell of a job to get up there using the ladder. (Quiet easy, you just have to click at the base ;-)).
Being on top you click on the blue white slider and the fun starts and ends with a splash in the pool.

On my way back to the road I passed a round box called "Graviton". The door was open and I took a seat. Be sure you will get pressed in the seat at full speed.

On the waterside promenade you will find some smaller restaurants for relaxing and refreshment, as well as some shops. But Hypergrid visitor remember that you can't purchase any items from the Littlefield Grid for use on your base grid.

Between the piers you can visit the beach for a swim or a bath in the sunbeams.

The next pier offers some more amusement. First thing one encounters is a classic old roundabout.

And more modern an quicker one, is called "Brrrrrr".

But the bigger attraction (well, for me) is the wooden water canal rollercoaster "Zoom Flume". Get in the tree stump canoe and click on the control panel outside. Use the mouselook and enjoy the ride.

The next pier offers a ride on the giant swing "Boomerang Pirate Ship".....

...jump the "Moonbounce" (which did not work for me, somehow. Looks like they still working on it)...

...get flung by the "Mister Chunder"...

...loose your orientation on a nameless machine....

...or have your stomach turned upside down on the free falling tower.

The last quay gives a way through the "Chamber of Horrors". (best to switch the environment settings to midnight on this one).

Or you can test your brave heart on a modern type of swing carousel.

And or, with the last attraction, have a ride with the "Wild Mouse".

Right down the line "Coney Island V" is a fun place to be. If you are looking for amusement, this place is one to go to.
A great work done by all the people involved in this project.
